Are your pages indistinguishable to crawlers?

01 / How it works

Step 1

Enter your domain

We find your sitemap, pull up to 50 URLs from it, and fetch a sample of up to 30 pages to read their title and description tags.

Step 2

Read the duplicate groups

Pages sharing an exact title or description are grouped together, alongside anything missing one entirely or running long or thin.

Step 3

Rewrite the offenders

Give each page in a duplicate group its own specific title and description so crawlers and AI engines can tell them apart.

02 / FAQ

Questions, answered.

Why is a duplicate title or description actually a problem?+

When two pages share the exact same title or description, crawlers and AI engines choosing what to cite for a question have no signal telling them the pages are different. It does not promise a Google ranking change, it just means the page most likely to be picked as the answer might not be the one you meant to send.

How do duplicate titles usually happen?+

Almost always a template problem: a category or tag template that never interpolates the page name, paginated listings that all inherit the section title, staging or placeholder copy that never got swapped out, or a CMS default that fires when someone forgets to fill in the field.

What is the ideal title and description length?+

We flag titles over 60 characters and descriptions over 160 as overlong, and descriptions under 50 as too thin. Those are the rough points where Google and most AI engines start truncating a title or description in a result, not a ranking rule. Staying under them just means your whole line shows instead of getting cut off.

Does every single page need a unique meta description?+

For any page you want found or cited on its own, yes. A handful of near-identical utility pages (a print view, a thin redirect target) sharing a description is a minor issue, not an emergency. The pages that matter are the ones competing for the same kind of question.

Why do you only check a sample instead of the whole site?+

We fetch up to 30 pages from up to 50 sitemap entries so the check stays fast and free. On a site with a few hundred pages that is a solid sample of your most important ones (sitemaps usually list newest or most-linked first). On a much bigger site, rerun the check against different sitemap sections or a section-specific sitemap URL to cover more ground.

What gets fetched and stored when I run this?+

We fetch your sitemap and then each sampled page once, server-side, to read its title and description tags. Nothing is stored: the results live in your browser for this one session and disappear when you close the tab or check another domain.
