What is schema markup and why does it matter for AI?+
Schema markup (JSON-LD structured data) is a machine-readable block that states the facts of your page: who published it, what it answers, what the product is. AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini read it to verify and attribute claims, so pages with clean schema are easier to quote and cite.
Which schema type should I use?+
Organization on your homepage or about page, Article or BlogPosting on every post, FAQPage wherever you answer questions, HowTo on step-by-step guides, SoftwareApplication or Product on your product pages, and BreadcrumbList sitewide. Most pages benefit from two or three blocks together.
Where do I paste the generated code?+
Anywhere inside the page's HTML, usually in the head. Most site builders and CMSs have a custom-code or head-scripts field. Paste the whole script tag; one block per schema type per page.
Is the output valid JSON-LD?+
Yes. The generator only emits fields you filled in, so there are no empty properties, and the output follows schema.org vocabulary. You can verify it with our free Schema Validator or any structured data testing tool.
Does this tool upload my data anywhere?+
No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and there is no sign-up or email wall.
Will schema markup alone get me cited by AI?+
No. Schema makes your pages easy to quote, which is necessary but not sufficient. What moves citations most is what other sites say about you and whether your content answers real buyer questions. That ongoing work is what Beamcite does as a service.
