What does being invisible to AI cost you?
Buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini before they ever see a search results page. This calculator sizes the revenue tied to the answers that do not cite you, using your own five inputs and nothing else. No invented statistics, nothing leaves your browser.
This is an estimate built entirely from your own five inputs; the defaults are placeholders to make the math visible, not market statistics. The most honest way to use it: measure your real citation rate first, set the AI research share to what you believe for your buyers, and treat the output as a sizing exercise, not a forecast.
01 / How it works
Set your five numbers
Buyer volume, the share researching via AI (your assumption), your measured citation rate, conversion rate and customer value. Every field is editable.
Read the exposure
Missed buyers per month, and the monthly and yearly revenue tied to them, computed from your inputs alone when you press Calculate.
Stress-test it
Run a low case and a high case for the AI research share. If even the low case is a number you care about, AI visibility deserves a line in your plan.
02 / FAQ
Questions, answered.
What does 'cost of AI invisibility' mean?+
The revenue tied to buyers who research through AI assistants and get answers that never mention you. Those buyers mostly proceed with whoever the assistant did cite. This calculator sizes that exposure using your own numbers: buyer volume, how much of their research you believe happens in AI, your measured citation rate, conversion rate and customer value.
Where do the default numbers come from?+
They are placeholders so you can see the math working, not market statistics. Beamcite does not smuggle an invented 'industry average' into the result. Replace every field with your own numbers; the output is only as honest as your inputs.
How do I know my AI citation rate?+
Measure it: ask 10 to 30 real buyer questions in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and count the answers that cite you. Our free AI Citation Rate Calculator structures exactly that test. If you have never checked, testing a handful of questions takes fifteen minutes and is usually eye-opening.
What share of buyer research actually happens in AI assistants?+
It varies wildly by market and buyer, which is why this field is your assumption to set, not ours to claim. Developers and technical buyers lean on assistants heavily; some local-service buyers barely use them yet. Pick a number you can defend for your buyers, and re-run the calculator with a low and a high case.
Is the output a forecast of lost revenue?+
No. It is a sizing exercise: if your assumptions hold, this is the order of magnitude at stake. Use it to decide how much attention AI visibility deserves, not as a promise of what you will recover. Nobody can honestly promise that.
Does being cited more actually recover this revenue?+
Being cited puts you in the answers those buyers read; it does not close deals by itself. The honest claim is directional: a higher citation rate moves buyers from the 'never saw you' column into your funnel, and the rest of your funnel takes it from there.
Is anything I enter stored?+
No. The math runs entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded, logged or saved.
